Mojo Monday time today….it may be Friday but I am feeling the Monday Mojo!! I love the trio of circles called for on this sketch. For my card I decided to try the spirelli technique that I keep seeing on Pinterest.
My Take on the Spirelli Technique
You can buy a special templet for this technique but I just used Stampin Up’s 2 3/8 inch Scallop Circle punch. I taped my baker’s twine to the back of my punched out scallop to hold it in place. I brought my twine around to the front and started wrapping the twine…I counted over six indents from where I started and then just wrapped the whole way around the flower two times. You know your circle is complete when each indent is holding two threads. Once you have completed the circle secure your twine with a second piece of tape. I am sure there are video’s out there that explain it better….written directions for this kind of technique are a litttle challenging.
My card not only showcases the spirelli technique but it also includes a bit of the chalkboard art technique…..two fun techniques rolled into one card! I am also showing off two new items from Stampin Up….the Delicate Details Lace Tape (130966) and the Designer Builder Brads (129329). Both of these items are awesome…..I especially love the Lace Tape…..it is so easy to use and looks so awesome!! What I love about the brads is the fact that you can customize them to match any paper!!
